Program and enrollment

The Village of Bolivar offers optional SMS text alerts to people who enroll through the Village website. The form asks you to provide your mobile number, choose alert categories, and check a separate box consenting to receive Village texts. Public service announcements may include service disruptions, road or public works notices, and other Village information. You may also choose Village event updates, including events such as Pioneer Oil Days. Your consent applies to the categories you select; it is not a condition of using the Village website or receiving other Village services. Provide only a mobile number you are authorized to enroll.

Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies based on Village activity and the categories you select. The Village does not charge a subscription fee. Message and data rates may apply under your wireless plan.

Stop messages or get help

Reply STOP to any Village alert to opt out. You may receive a final confirmation text; no further program messages will be sent unless you enroll again. Reply HELP for help, or contact the Village Clerk using the contact details on the official Village website. If you change or relinquish your mobile number, unsubscribe or notify the Village so messages do not continue to the new holder.

Delivery and emergencies

Delivery depends on wireless networks and other systems and may be delayed or unavailable. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely solely on these alerts for urgent or emergency information. In an emergency, call 911 and follow instructions from appropriate public safety authorities. Text replies to the alert number are for supported keywords and may not be monitored as requests for Village services or emergency reports.

Privacy and changes

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information associated with these alerts. Mobile numbers and text messaging opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may adjust the program or these terms; material changes to the kinds of messages sent may require fresh consent. The effective date above indicates the current terms.
